Cosmetology Course Description:
​
The State of Illinois requires 1500 hours of training which takes approximately eleven and a half (11 1/2) months, or 47 weeks, to complete. These hours are broken up into three different skill levels: Freshman, Intermediate, and Senior level. All work is monitored by a licensed instructor. The skills learned throughout the program will prepare students to take the State Board Exam and to obtain an entry-level position.
Cosmetology Instructor 500 Hours:

The State of Illinois requires Cosmetologists, with two years’ experience, wishing to obtain the Instructor license to take 500 hours of training which takes approximately five (5) months to complete on a full-time schedule. The course is designed to teach the methods and principles of teaching. Upon completion students will be prepared to take the State Board Exam to acquire the Instructor license. Instructor program starts are considered case-by-case.
